When we founded OC Designworks in 2026, we wanted a mantra that captured this duality. We landed on three words that define our lifestyle, our designs, and our community: Surf. Summit. Soul.™
Here is the story of how that trinity became the heartbeat of our brand.
The Surf: The Rhythm of the Strand
Our roots are buried deep in the sands of Laguna, Newport, and Huntington. For us, the Surf isn't just about catching waves; it’s about the coastal strand lifestyle—the salt air, the golden hour, and the effortless cool of the Pacific shoreline. When we design our coastal-inspired tees, we’re looking to bottle that feeling of a post-surf bonfire.
The Summit: Where the Dust Meets the Sky
While the ocean centers us, the Summit fuels our adrenaline. We are explorers of the California backcountry. From the single-track mountain bike trails of the Sierras to the rugged high-desert vistas of Mojave, Joshua Tree, and Anza Borrego, the wilderness is our second home. These designs reflect the raw, untamed beauty of the hills and the grit it takes to climb them.
Sharing the Map: Hidden Places Revealed
One thing you’ll notice as you explore our collections is that we love to sprinkle in the specific places we’ve visited and fallen in love with. Whether it’s a quiet cove at the coast, a favorite local destination around town, or a secluded spot in the backcountry wilderness, our designs act as a roadmap to our favorite memories.

Featured Design: The Cactus Sunset Tee
Speaking of favorite places, our featured shirt this month is a direct tribute to the high desert. It was inspired by the colors of the desert, and serene sunsets we’ve personally enjoyed over the years while camping and sitting around a crackling fire.
We wanted to capture that specific moment when the sky turns a bruised purple and fiery orange, and the silence of the desert settles in. It’s more than a shirt; it’s a reminder of those quiet, smoky nights under a canopy of stars.
The Soul: Passion with a Purpose
The final piece of our mantra is Soul. To us, this means intentionality and the spirit of Maui—from the resilience of Lahaina to the beauty of Kaanapali.
But the real Soul of OC Designworks lies in our 10% Pledge. For nearly 20 years, our family has been dedicated to dog rescue and fostering. We believe that a brand should do more than just sell—it should serve. That is why 10% of all proceeds are donated to animal welfare and local community initiatives. When you wear our gear, you’re supporting a forever home for a pet in need.
